Event Recap: STK Celebrates One Year with a night of 1920s Speakeasy

happy anniversary

STK recently celebrated its one year anniversary with a roaring, 1920s-themed celebration at the DC location in Dupont.  We were transported back to the Prohibition era as soon as we stepped into our Speakeasy for the night.   When we arrived we were greeted by a woman in a champagne skirt handing out glasses.  They were not breaking character!!

Music was a mix of tunes from New York elite-DJ, DJ Martial and some serenading on the saxophone from saxophonist Kareem Wilkes.

If you weren’t sure how to get the perfect 1920s look, PURE, AVEDA Salon and Spa was on hand to give guest complimentary 1920s styling and makeup touch-ups.

Once you were ready you could strike a pose for your “mugshot” in the Onomonomedia GIF booth where you get both a print and your pictures on display throughout the night.  Or you could strike a pose when you arrived in front of the step and repeat! Loving Naseya Minor (The Seventh District)’s jumpsuit which was just right for the occasion.   Also Neil Grace and Jessica Hoy are giving me 1920s made modern and I love it!!

The night had three delicious featured cocktails.  The Cucumber Stiletto which was made with Ketel one Citroen, St. Germain, muddled cucumber, & mint.  The Hasta Manana made with Delon tequila, Pernod, pineapple syrup, fresh lime & cilantro.  Last but not least was Not Your Daddy’s Manhattan made with Bulleit bourbon, Fernet Branca, & Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth.  You could also get fun STK tattoos and Katya of She’s Unique is showing off both so well!!

It’s not a steakhouse party without some tasty treats and we got to try a variety of delicious bites including delectable grilled pepper crusted sirloin, tuna and beef tartare, delightful popcorn rock shrimp, truffle grilled cheese, enchanting crab cakes with sriracha mayo, and deviled quails eggs.  They also passed out some candy cigar for the night which Kevin of Men’s Style Point took part in!
