A Love Letter to Megan Thee Stallion

Dear Megan,

You deserve so much more than I can offer you but let me offer you a bit of love from a fellow Black woman. From the moment I heard your music, I was hooked. You are the voice of a generation with rhythms the flow like honey and your lyrics that speak to my soul and experience as a Black Woman. Every time I hear you perform or speak, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to you.

Your beauty is not just skin deep, but radiates from within. Your strength and determination inspire me to continue striving and I am truly glad you are still with us. You are a true role model and I am so grateful to be a witness to your journey. Keep shining your light and living in your happiness.

When you came onto the scene with songs like “Big Ole Freak”, I knew you were a force to be reconned with, especially considering you were doing all this while still getting your education. Inspiring!! You have (deservedly) won numerous awards like the BET Hip Hop Award for Best Mixtape and a Billboard Music Award for Best New Hip Hop Artist. Just to remind the folks to put respeck on your name.

I wish that more people had been there to advocate for you the way that you advocate for women’s rights and use your platform to speak out about issues such as body positivity and domestic violence. You are a shining example of hard work and determination paying off. I am constantly in awe of all that you have achieved and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.
